Power tools and household goods
220 Volt is a Russian chain of power tool stores. The brand includes a retail network, the largest online store in the DIY market, a network of service centers and order pickup points.
The task is to redesign the desktop version of the website and make it modern, adaptive and comfortable.

Using the existing expertise in behavioral metrics, the interface is designed to make the already formed user experience even faster and more engaging.
The process of selecting products should be as coherent and concentrated as the work of a craftsman with a power tool. Just as a craftsman sets up the tool before work, the user sets up the interface: selecting categories and subcategories, setting up filters, sorting products. As in the work of a craftsman, the user should have everything at his fingertips - professionals use time rationally.

The interface, like a quality power tool, should work smoothly and efficiently in any conditions. To adapt the layouts, the resolutions of the screens with the highest attendance were chosen: 1024, 1280, 1440, 1920.
After a series of A/B tests on the old site, as well as thanks to the data obtained by working with the focus group, it became clear that the shopping cart and checkout combined on one page show the shortest time for users to go through the scenarios, as well as the lowest number of leaves from the page. Power tool buyers prefer to solve tasks seamlessly.
The company has successfully implemented a system of rewarding users with bonus points for making purchases and other actions on the site. A bright promotional page was developed to tell users why they need to register in the bonus program.

Benefits, as the key value for the user, are placed on the first screen of the interface, and the principle of program operation is shown in three concentrated blocks.
A large share of purchases in online power tool shops is made by wholesale buyers. A special promotional page was designed to attract them and familiarise them with favourable conditions.

The most important information about the advantages and terms of co-operation is placed within one screen - we do not forget that customers spend their time rationally.
Design is the creation of rules. Each action of the designer creates a new rule. To keep the system from growing entropy and to keep it predictable, there is a repository of rules - the Design System.

The rules of color palettes and typography generate the rules of systems of icons, outlines, and components. In this way, the whole system tends to maintain a high degree of certainty and the information capacity of the interface is not overloaded.
Emphasis on clear navigation, loading speed and visual simplicity to make it easy for customers to find products and make purchases without unnecessary steps. Bright accents enhance contrast and ensure quick readability, while the adaptability of the design ensures comfort on any device.

There is nothing superfluous here - only convenience and results.
